Her facial features are unremarkable, and her build is well-suited to athleticism and hard work. Skills and Personality: Ričle is graceful and athletic, built to run, climb, and ride with natural ease. She is sensitive to the moods and behaviors of animals, and seems to understand them better than most people. With humans she can only be described as unprejudiced, accepting most anyone for who they are and not judging them based on station, action, or appearance. She is learning skills as a healer and can mend small wounds, but only with animals. Also, having grown up near the woods she has modest skills with tracking, surviving alone, and hunting. Ričle travels constantly from town to town working as an animal doctor or handler, though sometimes she returns home to visit her friends and family. She is a hard worker and many who meet her respect her initiative, effort, and honesty.

Driven by a private quest, she freely shares her knowledge and abilities with all who are willing to aid her, or befriend her. She greatly enjoys eating rare-cooked meat. Skills and Abilities: Drae has spent decades at study in the libraries of a magician. She is extremely smart and speaks many languages. While she has no magical abilities (though as a magical creature she can see magical spells) she is adept at the art of potion-making. Along her journeys she often collects ingredients. Her potions are mainly medicinal or have minor useful properties, any potions with magic properties require manipulation of ingredients by a magician, otherwise she can't complete them. As a Dragon, Drae has a natural human form that she can normally transform to and from at will. However, she's been stripped of the ability to transform and is trapped in her weaker human state. Because her human form is magically accomplished, Drae retains some properties of her dragon form while in human form, though they are not as strong as they are in her dragon form. She possesses the ever-present defense of dragon scales, and she still has her gift of fire. Drae's scales make her immune to physical attacks from some, less powerful weapons, as well as from some magical attacks. She is vulnerable to higher-level magics and to powerful physical attacks, or cunning ones. She can also create fire at will, but only within or upon herself. As a reptile she uses fire to maintain her core body temperature, but because she's a Dragon and a creature of magic she can increase that temperature to produce excess heat - she is never cold, and her skin is always warm to the touch. In her human form she can only produce a modest flame. She cannot 'throw' fire or will fire to appear on another object, but if you touch her without protection she could potentially burn you. Overall, in terms of battle Drae has absolutely no attack capabilities (and is not intended as a battle character), and would easily be defeated with powers other than ordinary weapons or magic. Finally, it's a little-known fact that dragons cry diamonds. But it takes a rare heart to make a dragon cry  *note that the character is not intended to be played in dragon form

Personality: Mischievous and cunning, with a wry sense of humor. Friendly and loyal, but usually has a secondary agenda that either involves assuaging boredom or saving the world from imminent disaster. Eccentric and enthusiastic, so much that many people find him annoying. He seems to enjoy the fact that he irritates many people to such extremes that they don't want him around.

Skills and Abilities: Arthur learned elemental magic, and though he manipulates all of the elements when performing spells his strength is with Earth magic. He can predict and (to some extent) manipulate the weather, has some abilities with healing, can detect metals, is attuned with and can manipulate powers of the earth, and is an astronomer. His earth powers include an understanding of magical creatures, trees, and plants, as well as therianthropy. He studied at the academy, and while he claims to know "a few tricks", he was never considered particularly powerful by his classmates and spent most of his time studying runes and astronomy.
Background: Arthur was unpopular at the Academy, as he had many rash ideals and tended to be anti-social. He was extremely smart and many thought him gifted, but he never excelled in his classes and was almost disinterested in the practical applications of magic. Instead he spent his time at study.
After his graduation Arthur came to the realization that interpreting runes didn't put food in his stomach. He put to use the few practical skills he'd learned and took various odd jobs as a wizard. He eventually developed his skills, but he still considers magic unimportant compared with his ambitions of study and is very modest about his practical abilities.

Height: 4'6 Weight: 105 Eye Color: reddish brown Physical Appearance: Lateral scales a rusty-red color with flecks of dull orange and yellow. Feathers are the same shade of rusty-red with accents of black. Skin a light tan color. Robes are brown, with intricate writings in Elavien along the fringes.

Personality: Shy, but curious. Sage and knowledgeable despite his rank. Sweet and kindly, and difficult to anger. Very simple. Loves music and has mastered many instruments, but spends most of his time reading. Underneath has a slightly sarcastic side. Extremely slow and methodical.
History: Born and raised in the city Telmarr. Apprenticed at age 51 with the Nerand-ar and traveled many worlds in his studies. Completed his apprenticeship at the young age of 198. During his apprenticeship he trained to be an assistant gatekeeper, which many of the explorers do in order to attain more freedom and greater likelihood of qualification for missions. Though skilled among his colleagues he's often overlooked due to his quiet nature. As such he tends to spend time alone on worlds as an observer, learning about cultures and studying their histories, though he also often travels aboard the Faladir with his colleagues.

Race Information: Gatekeepers are humanoid in form, with scales of varying color descending laterally along their entire bodies. It's evident that they evolved to live in an environment very different from ones found on other worlds, and they are poorly-suited to the activities and tools developed by most of the humanoid races. They appear to have three fingers and a stunted opposable thumb, but in actuality they have an additional four fingers that are long and thin and attached with a thick, leathery piece of skin forming crude wings as those of a bat. However, they are unable to fly at all and can only glide effectively in low-gravity environments. Their toes are in a zygodactyl arrangement, as such they are poor runners and move clumsily on land. They are between about 4 and 5'4 tall, and have a saggital crest with feathers on their head that usually lies flat. They also have a small feathered tail, and feathers on their face instead of eyebrows.
A traditional people, the Gatekeepers clothe themselves in robes lined with writings in their own language, which is very complicated and a mystery to most other cultures. The robes differ for males and females and for individuals of varying ranks. Males' robes typically have long, voluminous sleeves and appear such that they've earned the Gatekeepers the nickname "wizards" among humans. Female's robes are often more elaborately decorated and are sleeveless.
The Gatekeepers have amazing mental abilities. They are able to remember incredible details, and have the capacity to understand complex patterns. They can also communicate with one another telepathically, though they cannot communicate with members of other races.
Because the Gatekeepers are such an old race and their language is so hard to decipher, their history is little known outside their own culture. Below follows information known to most of the races they've encountered.
Race History:The Elevien are known as Gatekeepers because they created an ancient network of Gates to connect many worlds. The Gates were developed with such advanced technology that no other race has been able to duplicate them or add a Gate onto the network. Not all gates operate in the same way, and each Gate connects to only seven other Gates. At the time of the establishment of each gate, the races on each world were educated in the operation of their Gate and are were to use it at will for trade and exploration. All Gates were maintained by the Gatekeepers.
Ages ago Pćlidan-ere was destroyed, or became uninhabitable - no one knows for certain. Most of the Gatekeepers disappeared altogether or will killed in the event. A few Gatekeepers remained on the worlds they'd explored to maintain the gate system. Gatekeepers maintain peaceful relationships with all of the races they encounter, refusing to participate in any wars or conflicts but freely sharing knowledge from their explorations. As they no longer have a homeworld, the Gatekeepers make alliances with other races to live in their cities, and many are constantly traveling.
Culture: The Gatekeepers are simple explorers. They used to have alliances with hundreds of races with which they shared knowledge in forms such as science, art, literature, and histories. They are said to have had the largest library of information of any known race, and would freely share or exchange their knowledge with any race or individual as long as they intended to use it for peaceful purposes. Many races took advantage of this, though the capacity for most races to learn the more advanced technologies that the Gatekeepers mastered was limited.
Gatekeepers are present on many worlds, though they are somewhat rare. Some live in cities on worlds with whom they have a beneficial alliance, though older, well-studied individuals will often explore alone or remain on a world for a time to learn about their culture.

Physical Appearance: Nat is tall and thin with a few inches of sandy-colored hair. He's handsome, in a dweebish sort of way, though his features are fairly plain. His smile is probably the most charming part about him, and he has a very trustworthy demeanor. When reading, he wears eyeglasses.

Skills and Personality: Nat is proficient with the sword, but is fascinated by the art and use of different weapons and has studied them at every opportunity. He's an excellent leader and mediator, and an extremely loyal friend. His personality is calm, amiable, trustworthy, and intelligent. When fighting he works best as part of a larger team. When not fighting, he usually works as a repairman or construction laborer. Nat is also an avid reader, and enjoys books about physics and mechanics. He occasionally creates small inventions, though he finds little time for this pursuit.

Names: "Ithil" (Kalindrahal - mage; Daivin - warrior; Kaian - elf; Melas - dwarf; others) Race: Istari-like (see History below) Gender: Male Physical Appearance: Ithil frequently uses magic to alter his appearance. His 'normal' (or most common, though none of his forms can be termed his 'true' self) identity is that of Kalindrahal, the mage. He has a magical tattoo of a 6-pointed star covering his back that is interspersed with symbols representing the phases of the moon - all of Ithil's alternate forms bear this mark. Skills and Personality: Ithil has many faces, and regularly changes his appearance and personality to match the task he must perform. He is fondly known by each of these aliases throughout the realm - he does not consider this a deception, for each face and personality represent an aspect of himself. Ithil changes his form using magic, but does not require magic to maintain his different forms or the skills he possesses as each of them. Ithil is young for his purpose, and was placed upon Elumintir without knowledge or power - only a shadow of what he was before, though he can't remember - and merely a blank slate with the Will to fulfill his task. He is constantly learning and growing, and travels in search of powers and knowledge that will help him. He serves as an unknowing guide, bringing balance to a world of shadows. His duty calls him to walk within the shadow, bringing light to those who dwell in darkness. Ithil's skills and abilities, whether magical, physical, or intellectual, are more tied to fate and purpose than to physical limitations. When his skills are necessary to complete his task, Ithil is capable of exhibiting extreme and awesome power and ability. But, in more mundane situations or in circumstances that are unrelated to his purpose, Ithil will generally choose not to use his abilities, and may be incapable of them altogether. All of Ithil's forms share the same innate ability - he can see strands of fate. This only occurs when he needs to see them. Ithil knows that his purpose is to manipulate those strands of fate, and has an innate instinct that allows him to know when the strands are woven correctly, or incorrectly. History/Identity: Ithil never speaks of his purpose, but always acts in the interest of fulfilling it. He arrived in Elumintir by ship 83 years ago, and remembers nothing of whence he came. His only memory is the knowledge that, of all things, he must struggle to remember his task, and not lose himself in the mortal conquests of men. As he gains wisdom through study and experience Ithil regains the powers that he lost when he arrived in Elumintir. Ithil is mortal, but gifted with many years as he needs much time and knowledge in order to fulfill his task. He knows that he will always be pursued, yet he never caught, and his curse is to continue moving, never staying in the same place for long. Since his arrival in Elumintir he has explored his own abilities, and sought knowledge from what sources he can. He is particularly adept with spells of light, and illusion. Of all things Kalin values wisdom, and spends countless hours at study when given the opportunity. He is often lost in thought, and his words come slowly, with a reservoir of knowledge and consideration behind them. A listener, Kalindrahal gives his words and knowledge freely and is kind and true to his allies. He speaks honestly, and has the gift of revealing truths about others. He is wise and humble, and open-minded to the possibilities of all but intolerant of willful evil. Kalin's magical skills are extensive (however, see the description of Ithil's abilities above). He is always learning, but can be capable of great power when that power is necessary. A *general* outline of his magical abilities follows: - Kalin cannot control time, read minds, see the future, raise the dead, or kill anyone (directly, with magic). He can heal others to some extent, but this is not an innate talent and he has little skill with this ability. Though he can manipulate many elements, he does not achieve this magic in the same way as an elemental mage and is not an elemental mage. Most of Kalin's magic is not intended for fighting, though he can defend himself effectively.
- Kalin can manipulate light and create illusions. He can create gateways to other parts of the land and step through to other places. He can move and manipulate objects, and summon objects that belong to him out of midair. He can scry distant places and people, and sense when magic is being used. Kalin spends a great deal of time at study, and knows many languages and ancient runes. He has studied alchemal magic, and can change matter into other matter (alchemy/transmutation).

Skills and Personality: Ithil possesses some fighting abilities when he assumes the form of Daivin, and carries a broadsword. Daivin's personality is strong and hardened, and very down-to-earth. While he shares many traits with Kalin the alternate form brings out different strengths, thus while Daivin is quiet and thoughtful he is also mindful of his surroundings. As a soldier he is practical and straightforward, and more attuned to present tasks and duties rather than to distant thoughts.
