Rules, for the boards and the RPs

Behavior

• Please maintain a good attitude and treat others with respect. Do not spam the forums or act immaturely.

Content

• As per the rules of Invisionfree, you can't post anything illegal or pornographic.
  
• Swearing is allowed, and there are no word filters. However, with respect to the younger and/or more conservative members participating on these boards, I would ask members who like to use more liberal vocabulary to please consider those around them when posting. If you’re in one of the younger members’ threads or RPs or in a public thread where everyone posts, please keep yourself appropriately censored. On the flip side, younger/conservative members may wish to avoid joining an RP or discussion started by someone who makes more blatant references. In both cases, please use discretion. If you’re not sure 1) ask, or 2) don’t post it.
  
• The same goes for sexual content, drugs, alcohol, and other explicit things the human mind can find to reference. However, porn is not allowed. Sex can happen, but we’re not here to read a play-by-play. Most importantly, if you're not sure 1) please ask, or 2) don't post it.
  
• Please post a note at the top of the RP, either in the topic description or an OOC on the first line, if you plan to include any content that may be viewed by younger/more conservative members as explicit. If there isn't a note at the top of the RP, please put one as an OOC on the first line of your post.
  
• Any content posted in an official capacity is considered a "gift" to the community, and is property of Abydos once submitted or posted on the site. This includes official moderator and admin posts, posts with the Dungeon Master account, canon submissions, skins, graphics, etc.

Etiquette

• Please do not post images that stretch the board window. If you cannot make your image smaller, please post a link to the image.
  
• Providing links in your signature to your character page (and to other reference pages that you've written) is encouraged - this is extremely helpful to other writers on the board. Please keep file sizes and animations in your signature to a minimum.
  
• Please do not post OOC-only posts in the role plays. Extensive OOC discussion can occur in the recruiting topics.

.:: Rules :: For Role Playing ::.

• Each person only needs one account here on Abydos. You may play as many characters as you like with that account.
  
• No god-moding or power-gaming. (For definitions of terms and role-playing guidelines, click here.)
  
• We expect writers to be mature enough to play fair when creating and playing their characters. Hence, writers are free to develop their characters as they see fit. Writers may give their characters any abilities, items, or attributes that they want them to have.
  
• If you play a character as a PC, please post a character profile with at least a physical description of that character so that other writers know what he/she looks like.
  
• Each thread is meant to be a continuous story from start to finish, with a cast of characters. The creator of a story is responsible for the plot, and has the ability to determine whether other members and characters may join. You may have a private RP between several people, or you can keep the story open to any who wish to join. Word minimums are allowed.
  
• Copyrights: Do not rip off characters, text, stories, etc. directly from other sources. If your character or story is inspired by another source that’s ok, but direct plagiarism is unacceptable.

Transgressions of the rules will result in a verbal warning, increase to warning level, or banning - at the moderators' discretion.
