Imlandris / The Kingdom of the Winds
~ background info for RiRi's Nerandor kingdom ~
(undergoes frequent updates and edits)
Somewhere, I also have a half-finished map.
Country: The Kingdom of the Winds; or Imlandris
Neighbor(s): Aranos, or the Realm of the Goddess, to the south. Island Celynse part of Aranos; known for pirates.
Northern lands: "The Northlands".
Capital City: Caelin Tal
While the city of Caelin spread far and wide between the two rivers, the city was known by its rightful name, Caelin Tal, for the shining Tower that stood at the center of its northern end. The Tower of the Gods was a marvel of architecture within the country of Imlandris, standing taller than any other structure in the kingdom. It was built by blocks of stone said to be carved by magic, with intricate patterns detailing the legends of the gods etched upon its outer walls. Within was said to be housed the sum of the wisdom of the gods, which cumulated to the largest library in known existence as well as the home of the greatest scholars in all the country. The Tower was built as a house for the king, who by legend was said to follow no god, but serve as a conduit to the wisdom of all of the gods the moment he took his oath and sat upon the throne. There were thus no temples in the Tower, for worship and favoritism were not meant to be seen in this place, though a contingent of monks from each order lived within the Tower, working with the scholars and maintaining the library.
